The American Classic® line combines tradition and Vic Firth style. The Classics are made from select hickory, a dense wood with little flex, resulting in a more pronounced sound. Hickory is also highly durable and can withstand a great deal of shock. The tips have been deeply back-cut to intensify cymbal response.
